LNG Originator

We are seeking an experienced LNG Originator to lead LNG supply and demand origination efforts across the Asia-Pacific and Atlantic market.

This strategic role involves identifying, negotiating, and executing term procurement and sales agreements, joint ventures, and infrastructure investments that align with the company’s global LNG strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the LNG value chain including details of LNG SPA terms and conditions, strong deal-making capabilities, and a track record of success in long-term origination and business development.

• Lead the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of LNG supply and demand opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region (including main demand center such as China, Japan) and Atlantic region (including US and EU), spanning traditional term marketing, strategic alliances, and infrastructure investments.
• Develop and implement LNG procurement and marketing strategies for term sales, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic objectives.
• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, leading economic assessments, and proposal development.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to support company strategic objectives
• Operate with a high degree of self-reliance and independence, particularly in new and emerging markets with limited in-country support.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, including LNG Trading, Operations, and Shipping, ensuring seamless integration of activities into the company’s LNG strategy.
• Engage with trading teams and management to align opportunities with corporate strategic objectives.
• Establish and maintain a strong network of industry contacts to enhance market intelligence and commercial positioning.
• Provide gas commercial expertise and leadership in key market initiatives, supporting broader business development efforts.
• Represent the company externally with governments, customers, and partners at the highest levels.
• Any ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of LNG origination experience both FOB (including US FOB) and DES
• Proficiency in Chinese language will be an advantage to handle the main demand center such as China.
• Proven experience in long-term origination and new business development, including negotiation and execution of mid to long-term LNG agreements (both buyand sell) and value chain structuring.
• Strong commercial acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the LNG value chain, from production to customer delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, structure, finance, and close complex LNG transactions.
• Strong negotiation skills with a history of deal capture and execution.
• Deep understanding of commodity markets and trading dynamics.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of developing new market opportunities.
• Capable of working independently with limited supervision in new or developing markets.
• Willingness to travel regularly as required by business needs.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across diverse cultures and business environments.
