Noble Canine Oasis is a canine care facility offering daycare, training, grooming, and enrichment services. We believe in providing a safe, positive, and welfare-focused environment where every dog is treated with patience, understanding, and respect.
We are looking for a skilled and responsible Part-Time Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate should be confident in handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments, while delivering quality grooming services and prioritising each dog's physical and emotional wellbeing.
Grooming Services
Perform full grooming services, including bathing, blow-drying, brushing, dematting where appropriate, clipping, trimming, and styling.
Carry out basic hygiene services, including nail trimming, ear cleaning, paw pad trimming, and sanitary trimming.
Provide breed-appropriate and client-requested grooming styles, subject to coat condition and animal welfare considerations.
Assess coat and skin condition before grooming and identify potential concerns requiring attention.
Maintain consistent grooming quality and ensure dogs are returned to owners clean, comfortable, and well-presented.
Dog Handling & Welfare
Handle dogs safely and humanely using calm, patient, and low-stress handling techniques.
Recognise signs of stress, fear, discomfort, pain, and escalating behaviour during grooming.
Adjust handling techniques and grooming procedures according to each dog's individual needs.
Avoid unnecessary restraint, forceful handling, or grooming practices that compromise animal welfare.
Communicate promptly with management when a dog cannot safely or comfortably complete a grooming session.
Work collaboratively with the daycare and training teams when handling dogs requiring additional behavioural support.
Client Communication & Service
Understand and follow grooming instructions and preferences recorded for each dog.
Provide clear updates on grooming progress, coat condition, and any concerns identified.
Recommend suitable grooming frequencies and home coat-maintenance practices.
Report incidents, injuries, or unusual observations to management immediately.
Maintain accurate grooming records, including services performed and relevant handling notes.
Hygiene, Equipment & Operations
Clean and disinfect grooming tables, tubs, tools, and workstations between dogs.
Maintain grooming equipment in safe working condition.
Follow established hygiene, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
Manage grooming appointments efficiently without compromising quality or welfare.
Support general grooming-area housekeeping and other reasonable grooming-related duties.
Previous professional dog grooming experience is required.
Competent in bathing, drying, clipping, scissoring, and basic breed styling.
Able to perform grooming services independently.
Confident handling small, medium, and large dogs.
Good understanding of canine body language, stress signals, and safe handling practices.
Patient, reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to animal welfare.
Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
Formal grooming certification is an advantage.
Experience working with anxious, sensitive, or behaviourally challenging dogs is an advantage.
Flexible part-time working arrangements.
