Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented trade finance professional looking to broaden your experience within an international trading environment? If you have a good understanding of trade finance instruments, banking documentation and transaction processes, this could be an opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Our client is an established international business with trading activities across multiple markets. They are looking for a Trade Finance Executive to join their Singapore team, supporting financing arrangements and transaction execution. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external banking partners, you will help ensure that trade transactions are properly documented, financial requirements are met and operational processes run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with local and international banks on trade finance facilities, instrument issuance, amendments, document presentations and transaction-related queries.

• Review sales and purchase contracts, payment terms and financing conditions to identify discrepancies or potential risks before transaction execution.

• Monitor the utilisation of banking facilities, available credit limits and outstanding financing commitments, ensuring adequate capacity for ongoing trading activities.

• Reconcile trade finance records against invoices, settlement statements and contractual pricing terms, investigating discrepancies and arranging necessary adjustments.

• Work closely with traders, operations, accounting and treasury teams to ensure financing arrangements reflect the underlying trades and expected shipment or delivery schedules.

• Track the status of outstanding LCs, bank guarantees, document presentations and financing maturities, following up on pending items to avoid delays or additional banking costs.

• Assist with the preparation of reports on bank facility utilisation, trade finance exposure, outstanding transactions and upcoming financing requirements.

• Maintain accurate records of trade transactions, banking instruments, facility documentation and supporting correspondence for audit and internal control purposes.

• Support banking facility reviews and renewals by preparing relevant transaction records, utilisation information and supporting documentation.

• Identify opportunities to improve trade finance workflows, documentation standards and internal controls to enhance processing efficiency and minimise operational errors.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Finance, Business, Banking, Maritime Studies or a related discipline.

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in trade finance, preferably within an international trading company.

• Familiarity with commercial agreements, payment terms and supporting documentation for import and export transactions.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical ability and organisational skills.

• Good communication skills, with the confidence to coordinate with different stakeholders and external banking partners.

• Able to manage competing priorities, work to tight deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

• Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Benefits:

Competitive Salary Package: Receive a salary that reflects your industry experience and capabilities, complemented by performance-based bonuses that reward your contributions.
